Prep softball: Willmar 1-2 at Hutchinson Invite

HUTCHINSON -- Willmar won one of three games in the Hutchinson softball quadrangular on Saturday.

The Cardinals (5-5) beat Hutchinson 4-2, but lost to Dassel-Cokato 6-4 and Holy Family 6-1.

Willmar was leading Dassel-Cokato for most of the game before the Chargers hit a pair of home runs.

Casey Marcus had three hits for Willmar. Laura Swart, Heather Horning, Megan Rudie and Sarah Roehl had two hits apiece.

Horning was the winning pitcher against Hutchinson. She struck out 11 over 161/3 innings.

Dassel-Cokato went 3-0, Holy Family 2-1, Willmar 1-2 and Hutchinson 0-3 in the tournament.

Willmar hosts Sartell at 4 p.m. today in a Central Lakes Conference game. The Cardinals also have games scheduled Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
