Prep Swimming and Diving: Warren collects bronze at state

MINNEAPOLIS -- Litchfield sophomore Marissa Warren captured a bronze medal Saturday in the 100 Butterfly during the Class A finals of the state swimming and diving meet at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.

Warren had a third-place time of 56.48 in the Butterfly, nearly 1 second better than her preliminary time of 57.40. Warren also placed seventh in the 100 Backstroke (59.66), and was part of the Dragons' seventh-place finish in the 200 Medley Relay (1:51.64). Also swimming on the relay for Litchfield was senior Shelbie Walsh, junior Montana Linsmeier and freshman Anika Ellingson.

In the consolation finals, Ellingson was seventh in the 100 Breaststroke (1:09.98) and Morris/Minnewaska junior Bridget Opdahl was eighth in both the 50 Freestyle (25.50) and the 100 Freestyle (55.83).
