MINNEAPOLIS -- The Lac qui Parle Valley/Dawson-Boyd duo of Patricia Ott and Kelle Thompson won the Class A consolation doubles title Friday at Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center.

Willmar senior Xiaodan Yu (20-6) was eliminated from Class AA singles tournament Friday after falling 6-2, 6-3 to Faith Lee of Andover in the consolation semifinals. Lee would go on to win the consolation title.

Ott, a senior, and Thompson, a junior, outlasted Maggie O'Keefe/Kelsey Zetah of Staples-Motley 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 in the consolation semifinals before sweeping Samantha Silcox/Taylor Gunderson of Virginia 6-3, 6-1 in the consolation final.

Ott played at No. 1 singles and Thompson No. 2 during the regular season for LQPV/DB before pairing for doubles for the individual playoffs. The two won the Section 3A doubles title.
