Prep volleyball: BBE claims Central MN Conference title outright

BROOTEN -- Taylor Braegelman and Kendra Braegelman had 9 kills each and Mariah Rach served 5 aces Wednesday to help Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa sweep Eden Valley-Watkins and win the Central Minnesota Conference title outright.

The Jaguars finished league play 7-0 and are now 22-7 overall. They will take a four-match winning streak into next week's Section 5A playoffs.

The Jaguars, ranked No. 10 in Class A, also got 7 kills each from Brittany Roelike and Miriah DeKok, and 33 assists from Hailey Braegelman.

The match was postponed a day after BBE teacher and wrestling coach Richard Vos died early Tuesday morning.
