BROOTEN — Top-seeded BBE in Sub-District 1 in Section 5A-South posted its 15th sweep of the season Friday after upending Central Minnesota Conference rival Eden Valley-Watkins 25-15, 25-19, 25-16 in a quarterfinal-round match.

It was the fourth straight win — all by sweep — for BBE (24-7). The reigning section runner-up will now play on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Long Prairie against Friday’s Verndale/Bertha-Hewitt winner.

Seven different players notched a kill for the Jaguars Friday with Becca Gruber pacing the group with 21. Megan Weller followed with 7 and Taylor Gregory 4. Guiding the offense was Hailey Braegelman (18) and Tessa Halvorson (11) with their combined 29 assists.

Weller also supplied 7 ace blocks and 3 ace serves, Karlee Kern 15 digs and Gruber 3 ace blocks.

The Jaguars also beat the Eagles (9-17) in the regular-season finale.
