Top-seeded BOLD swept Montevideo 25-15, 25-13, 25-21 on Friday to advance to the Section 3AA-North semifinals.

Morris/Chokio-Alberta and Benson also advanced with sweeps. Yellow Medicine East outlasted Redwood Valley 3-2.

Nikki Neisen's 14 kills led the Warriors (20-5) to a quarterfinal-round victory. Tyann Caspers added 11 and Brittany Nissen had nine. Sarah Gass served two aces and had 20 assists and Alex Ebnet recorded 14 digs.

Dani Emkes had four kills to lead the Thunder Hawks (4-22). Haley Kubista had 10 assists and Elissa Christensen collected six digs.

The top-seeded Owls (26-1) will play No. 4 Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (20-6) on Monday at 6 p.m. in the sub-section semifinals at the University of Minnesota-Morris campus.
