BROOTEN — The BBE volleyball team remained undefeated in the Central Minnesota Conference with a four-game victory over Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted on Thursday.

BBE’s Becca Gruber had 14 kills and Kinlee Swanson had 11.

Gruber also served five aces and had 3 block aces.

Megan Weller had 8 kills, served 3 aces and had an ace block.

Hailey Braegelman had 17 set assists and Tessa Halvorson set up 15 shots.

The Jaguars, 7-3 overall, plays next at New London-Spicer at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Central Minnesota Christian’s victory over Renville County West helped the Bluejays stay in a first-place tie in the Camden.

Co-leader Minneota beat Russell-Tyler-Ruthton on Thursday. CMCS and Minneota are both 6-0 in conference play.

Lexi Scott had 20 kills and 3 ace blocks for the Bluejays. Natalie Brouwer added 10 kills, and Mary Covert 9.

Steph Matti notched 5 ace serves.

CMCS next plays at home Tuesday against Canby.

Melrose 3, BOLD 1

OLIVIA — Melrose won a battle of two of the top teams in the West Central Conference in four games on Thursday at BOLD High School.

Both teams entered with 8-3 overall records and 5-1 conference marks.

Melrose downed the Warriors 25-16, 26-24, 22-25 and 25-15.

Sauk Centre won in three games over ACGC on Thursday and leads the conference with a 6-0 record and the Mainstreeters are 12-2 overall.

BOLD’s Baylie Kubesh did her best to keep the Warriors in the match with Melrose, finishing with 22 kills, 10 set assists and 3 blocks.

Carly Sigurdson had 11 kills and 21 digs and Ashley Schmitz had 18 set assists, served 2 aces and dug up 15 shots.
