KERKHOVEN — Five players collected five-or-more kills for Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg Tuesday as the Fighting Saints swept Hancock 25-23, 25-20, 25-21 in the opener for both teams.

Kalli Forsell led the KMS attack with 10 kills and Madison Strandberg followed with nine. The two combined for nine kills alone in the third game to help KMS post the sweep.

Directing the KMS offense was Katie Wilts with her 23 assists. The Fighting Saints offense also got nine points from ace serves. Forsell and Sydney Walsh both had three.

Defensively, KMS was paced by Ali Krieger’s 19 digs.

Central Minnesota Christian won its first match of the season, topping Yellow Medicine East 25-7, 25-18, 25-23, 25-7 on Tuesday.

The Bluejays improved to 1-1 and play at Lincoln HI on Tuesday.

Lexi Scott had 6 ace serves, and collected 18 kills and 16 digs.

Erin Orred added 10 kills and 2 ace blocks, and Natalie Brower had 8 kills and 4 blocking aces.
