TYLER -- Russell-Tyler-Ruthton gave the Bluejays the cold shoulder on an 80-degree evening beating the No. 10 team in Class A 25-19, 25-19 and 25-21 on Tuesday in Camden Conference.

Minnewaska won a marathon first game and continued on with just a slight bump in game three to down the Braves on Tuesday.

The Lakers won 33-31, 25-19, 25-27 and 25-20.

Lexi Amundson led the Lakers with 20 kills and Taylor Noetzelman and Ashton Byrne both had 7 kills. Byrne also had 37 set assists.

Benson's Emma Peterson had 22 kills and 4 ace serves. Alexa Nissen had 31 set assists.

Minnewaska improved to 2-1 in the West Central Conference and 3-2 overall. The Lakers play next at Montevideo on Sept. 18.

The Braves fell to 0-3 in the conference and 0-4 overall. They play at Paynesville at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
