MONTEVIDEO — BOLD swept Montevideo 25-13, 25-23, 25-23 Tuesday in a West Central Conference match despite having an off hitting night.

Seven Warriors (5-1, 8-3) that recorded a kill combined to commit 27 hitting errors and only Baylie Kubesh reached double figures in kills with 11. Kiah Morse followed with 7 while Carly Sigurdson, Mallarie Steffel and Andrea Maher had 4 each.

Kubesh also chipped in 4 ace serves and 4 ace blocks, while Sigurdson chalked up a match-high 15 digs.

Abby Olson matched Kubesh with 11 kills for Montevideo (2-3, 3-7), which also got 6 kills from both Alyssa Stern and Erin Balken and 3 ace serves from Kayla Collins.

MACCRAY posted its fourth sweep of the season Tuesday as the Wolverines took out newcomer Lac qui Parle Valley 25-11, 25-10, 25-14 in a Camden Conference match.

The win allowed MACCRAY to improve to 4-1 in the conference and 5-2 overall, and rebound from being swept by Class AA top-ranked Marshall Monday.

Brooklyn Gould put away 18 kills for MACCRAY in 32 attempts to post an impressive kill percentage of .438. Emily Orwick misfired on only 3 attacks to finish with 8 kills and Mallory VanKlompenburg was 17-for-17 in hits to pile up another 7 kills for the Wolverines. Aleah Schwitters had 27 set assists to propel the offense.

LQPV’s Jenny Arnold had 4 kills and Sydney Wittnebel had 10 set assists, an ace block and 12 digs.
