GROVE CITY -- Behind 16 falls on the day, Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City went 2-0 at its own triangular Thursday.


The Falcons upended Eden Valley-Watkins 59-7 and toppled Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 48-13. A score between BBE and Eden Valley-Watkins was not provided at press time.

Six of ACGC's 10 falls came during the first period. Maverick Whitcomb recorded the quickest pin at 26 seconds into the match at 170 pounds.

Also earning six points with pins for ACGC were Derek Dengerud at 120, Tyler Berghuis at 126, Hayden Rouser at 132, Logan Peterson at 138, Matt Meyer at 145, Colin Kragenbring at 195, TJ Hoffmann at 220 and Lucas Damm at 285. Larry Bomstad earned a technical decision 53 seconds into the second period at 152.

A pin from Josey Tensen at 106 pounds and a major decision at 120 from Tyler Tensen gave BBE a 10-6 lead. But ACGC responded with pins from Hayden Rouser at 132, Logan Peterson at 138, Larry Bomstad at 152 and Lee Whitcomb at 160, and a decision from Matt Meyer at 145 to take a 33-10 lead.

Robert Rasmussen at 113 and Colin Kragenbring at 195 added pins and James Nelson won a decision at 182 for the Falcons. Patrick Rooney's decision at 170 was BBE's only win after both teams forfeit at 126.
