Prep wrestling: Cardinals collect 2 wins on road

WILLMAR — Willmar won both its matches at the Mound Westonka triangular on Thursday.
The Cardinals defeated Waconia 42-24 and also downed the host school 34-27.
Colten Carlson at 160 pounds won both his matches, including a 3-1 decision over Mound Westonka’s state-ranked Tyler Hebig. Zach Lueders at 126 pounds and Austin Miley at 132 also won two matches, with Miley taking two major decisions.
Against Mound Westonka, with Willmar trailing 27-22, the Cardinals’ 220-pounder Jalen Cabrera pinned Erik Hannigan to ice the victory.
The Cardinals, now 4-1 , are scheduled to wrestle four duals in Monticello on Saturday.
