Prep Wrestling: Cards debut with victory at BBE Invitational

BELGRADE — High school wrestling debuted in the area on Wednesday at the Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa Invitational, a seven-team tournament won by Willmar.

The Cardinals had six champions. Morris Area followed in second place and then the host Jaguars.

At 160-pounds, Willmar sophomore Colten Carlson had three pins and at 182 Cardinal junior Vaughn Johnson needed just 54 seconds of mat time to accumulate two wins and the first-place medal.
