KERKHOVEN — Willmar opened its duals portion of the schedule Tuesday by roughing up BOLD 68-9 and outlasting Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg 32-24 at a triangular hosted by the Saints.

The Cardinals won 12 of 14 matches in their opener with BOLD before closing with an exciting victory over KMS.

“It’s been a long time since we’ve beat them (KMS),” said Willmar co-head coach Ed Oehlers. “We got a lot of big victories and a lot of our guys who lost wrestled well.”
