Prep Wrestling: Willmar wins twice at Alexandria Tri

ALEXANDRIA -- Willmar pocketed two routs Thursday to improve to 15-5 in duals.

The Cardinals opened by drubbing Central Lakes Conference rival Alexandria 52-27 and then they rolled past Moorhead, coached by New London-Spicer graduate Skip Toops, 71-6.

Nate Mittag at 113 and Martin Cabrera at 195 had pins in each match for Willmar. Augustine Hahn at 160 and Shawn Johnson at 182/195 were the only other Cardinals to win both of their contested matches as Willmar received four forfeits from Alexandria and five from Moorhead.

Willmar has a week off before traveling to Cold Spring to wrestle Wayzata and the host Spartans at the Rocori Triangular.
