Prep wrestling: Willmar's Carlson named CLC wrestler of week

Willmar Cardinals freshman Colten Carlson was named the Central Lakes Conference Wrestler of the Week on Monday.
Carlson won three matches — two pins and a decision — in Willmar’s three duals at the Class AAA Team State Tournament and won his first three matches — all by decision — in the individual state tournament before falling in the championship bout at 152 pounds Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Carlson was a Section 6AAA champion and finished the season 41-6.
