Project on Willmar Avenue SW starts next week

Construction on Willmar Avenue Southwest is scheduled to start next week, the city of Willmar announced today.

The project encompasses Willmar Avenue from 22nd Street Southwest to Highway 40. It calls for the construction of storm sewer and water main in the proposed new Willmar Avenue alignment.

Traffic will be allowed through the construction zone. Traffic control will be in place starting next week. Residents and motorists may encounter minor delays. Motorists are advised to slow down for their safety and the safety of others.

Weather permitting, the utility construction is anticipated to be completed by Oct. 2. The bituminous repair will be completed later.

The main contractor for the project is Duininck Inc. of Prinsburg.
