Public Forum: Don't be robbed of Christmas

We are past Thanksgiving and are now into what some call the holiday season.

I have felt the push and heard the loud suggestions that Christians tone down their observance of Christ's birth that we celebrate on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

But, we don't have to give up wishing each other Merry Christmas. May I suggest if a clerk wishes you "Happy Holidays," give them your biggest smile and with love in your voice wish them a very merry Christmas.

When you send out Christmas cards, make them ones that include the reason for the season -- Jesus, Mary and Joseph, angels, shepherds, wise men and the stable.

We will only be robbed of our Christmas celebration if we allow it. And we do not have to allow it to happen.
