Quiet railroad zone election set for Jamestown, N.D.

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) - Jamestown residents will vote on a proposed quiet zone for train whistles during a special election April 7.

The idea was voted down last June, but its supporters gathered petitions with enough signatures to revive it. The City Council now has set the date for the election.

City Administrator Jeff Fuchs says it's been four years since the city last held a special election.
