Rambow brothers both sign with Valley City

WILLMAR — Jake Rambow and his younger brother Austin both recently signed Letters of Intent with Valley City (N.D.) State University.
Jake, a sophomore at Ridgewater College, will play baseball; Austin, a senior at Willmar High School, will play basketball.
Head basketball coach Jeff Kaminsky announced the signing.
“We are looking forward to having Austin at Valley City,” stated Kaminsky. “His versatility on both ends of the floor will add a lot to our program. In addition to his scoring and rebounding ability, Austin is a great passer and versatile defender. His character and work ethic make him a success on and off the court.”
As a junior, Austin averaged 14 points and 7 rebounds per game to earn All-Central Lakes Conference honors.
Head baseball coach Casey Olney signed Jake Rambow, who is in his second year at the Willmar college playing both basketball and baseball.
As a freshman, he led the Warriors baseball team in games played and was second in runs scored. Defensively he led the team in assists and was third in put outs. At Willmar High School, he was named to the All-Conference and All-Area team both his junior and senior years. He was voted captain in his senior year and was voted MVP and Gold Glove by his teammates.
“We are excited to add Jake to the Viking program; he is exactly the type of player and person that we are looking for at Valley City State,” Olney said.
The Vikings men’s basketball team is an independent in NAIA Division II. The baseball team is an NAIA Division I independent.
Jake and Austin are the sons of Jon and Sharon Rambow.
