NEW LONDON - Raymond Rupp, 83 of New London, died on Monday June 24, 2013 at the GlenOaks Care Center in New London. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 27 2013 at Peace Lutheran Church in New London. Burial will be in the Oakhill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London and for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Raymond Peter Rupp was born on November 12, 1929 on the family farm near Ruthton, the son of Martin and Catherine (Ockenfels) Rupp. In 1947 the family moved to a farm west of New London. After his schooling, he farmed with his father, his brother, Merle and later on his own. After the death of his father, Raymond served as his mother’s caretaker for many years. He served on the New London Creamery Board and was an assistant 4-H leader. He was a gifted carpenter and loved sharing his items with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time with family, activities outdoors, bowling and collecting model tractors and mugs. He is fondly remembered as a quiet gentle spirit who was always willing to help another in need.

He is survived by his siblings, Ellen (Dennis) Benson, Merle (Joyce) Rupp, Charles (Sandra) Rupp and Clifford (Marion) Rupp; brother-in-law, Dewey Hald; sister-in-law, Pearl Rupp; special friend, Rollie Strand; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents: siblings, MaryLou Hald, Marvin Rupp, Clarence Rupp, Dora Gravley and Florence Ericson.
