REDWOOD FALLS -- Raymond Lawrence "Pat" Pedersen, 89, of Redwood Falls, died Wednesday at Seasons in Redwood Falls.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Christian Church in Redwood Falls. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Redwood Falls Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. The Nelson-Martin Funeral Service of Redwood Falls is handling arrangements.
He was born Oct. 24, 1919, in Audubon, Iowa, to Jens Pedersen and Ellen (Nielsen) Pedersen. At the age of 6, he moved with his family to Morgan where he grew up and received his education.
On Oct. 24, 1940, he married Ruth Sieckert in Redwood Falls. They lived in Morgan for six years and then moved to Redwood Falls where they have resided since. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He soon began working in the parts department of the Chevrolet dealership in Redwood Falls and was employed by Scott-Preusse Inc. until his retirement in 1986.
He was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church in Redwood Falls where he served as an elder, deacon, choir director, music leader, Sunday school teacher, committee member and board member.
He is survived by his wife; children: Mike (and Kathy) Pedersen of Shakopee and Sandi (and David) Huikko of Rochester; seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his sister: Edith Bertelsen of Denver.
He was preceded in death by his son: Larry.
