RAYMOND -- The Raymond Rockets rose slowly off the launching pad before exploding for nine runs in the middle innings to knock off the Montevideo Spartans 11-8 on Wednesday in an non-league amateur baseball game.

The Spartans led 3-0 on a solo homer by Joe Schlagel and a two-run single by Ryan Tostenson. But Tyler Steen, leading off the lower half of the fourth, homered to right-center for the first hit off Spartan starter Josh Fenske.
