Raymond S. Larson Dec. 6, 1922 - March 28, 2009
MILAN-- Raymond Sylvester Larson, 86, of rural Milan died Saturday at Veterans Hospital in St. Cloud.
The service will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Big Bend Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is today at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
He was born Dec. 6, 1922, in Chippewa County to Martin and Genora (Barduson) Larson. He attended rural school and Appleton Public Schools.
He married Arlene Torgeson on Dec. 10, 1944, in Big Bend.
He served in the U.S. Army. Upon his discharge, he farmed and worked at Midland Co-op station in Milan and Appleton. He was also a school bus driver.
He was a member of Big Bend Lutheran Church, the American Legion and VFW.
He is survived by two sons: Gary (and Kathy) Larson of Willmar and Dale (and Beth) Larson of Chanhassen; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister: Helen (and Carl) Carlson of Willmar; and a sister-in-law: Burnette Larson of Milan.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 2007 and a brother.
