Grove City woman hurt in Meeker County crash

LITCHFIELD -- Elizabeth Laidlaw, 50, of Grove City was injured in a one-car crash around 10 a.m. Tuesday along 575th Avenue, just north of County Road 28 in Greenleaf Township.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Laidlaw was driving a 2001 Ford Escape on the gravel road when she lost control, over-corrected and drove into the ditch. The vehicle rolled and came to rest upside down. Laidlaw was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Meeker Memorial Hospital.

The Litchfield rescue and fire departments also responded to the crash.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.

Theft

WILLMAR -- The theft of sunglasses from a vehicle was reported around 8 a.m. Wednesday along the 1100 block of 13th Street Southwest.

WILLMAR -- The theft of a purse from a vehicle was reported around 11:15 a.m. Wednesday along the 1500 block of Hansen Drive Southwest.

Fake money

WILLMAR -- Counterfeit money was reported around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday at Burger King, 1611 Highway 12 E.

n Ramon Solis Jr., 23, of Willmar, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a third-degree drug sale charge for selling 2.8 grams of methamphetamine to a CEE-VI Drug Task Force informant in March.

He will be sentenced Oct. 12. As part of a plea agreement, he will receive a stay of imposition on his sentence. Under the stay, his felony conviction would be reduced to a misdemeanor if he complies with the conditions of probation.

The charge was filed after the informant purchased the meth from Solis in a parking lot along the 300 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast for $150. The informant identified Solis as the man who sold the drugs via a Department of Vehicle Services photo.

n Ulises Sanchez, 30, of Willmar, made his first appearance Wednesday on a felony charge of terroristic threats for allegedly threatening a man's life Monday evening.

Unconditional bail was set at $75,000. His next appearance is Sept. 17.

Sanchez also faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault.

According to the complaint, Willmar Police were called around 7:30 p.m. Monday to home in the southeast quadrant on a report that Sanchez had beaten a man. The man reported that Sanchez hit him in the face, dragged him out of bed and pushed him into a dresser. He also said that Sanchez threatened to kill him at least twice.

Another person locked Sanchez out of the home and called 911. The man had visible injuries to his face and shoulder.

Sanchez was interviewed and said the man started the fight and punched him in the stomach. He claimed that he didn't hit the man.
