Spicer man cited after three-car crash on First Street

WILLMAR -- A 69-year-old Spicer man was cited for failure to drive with due care after a vehicle he was driving caused a three-vehicle crash around 2:50 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of First Street and Trott Avenue.

According to the crash report by Willmar Police, David Henry Danroth was driving a 2012 Kia that struck from behind a 1997 Chevy driven by Donna Garcia Rivera, 47, of Willmar. The Chevy then struck a 2001 Chevy driven by Heather Rose Ollendick, 36, of Benson. All of the vehicles were southbound on First Street, with the Rivera and Ollendick vehicles having stopped at the traffic light.

Rivera and Ollendick were both taken to Rice Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Theft

WILLMAR -- The theft of liquor was reported around 12:15 p.m. Friday along the 800 block of Litchfield Avenue Southwest.

WILLMAR -- The theft of a gas can and gas was reported around 8:45 a.m. Friday along the 1500 block of 11th Street Northeast.

WILLMAR -- The theft of stereo equipment was reported around 8 p.m. Thursday along the 700 block of Eighth Street Southwest.

WILLMAR -- The theft of items from a vehicle was reported around 9:15 a.m. Thursday along the 400 block of Highland Road Southwest.

NEW LONDON -- The theft of tires and radar detectors was reported around 10:15 a.m. Thursday along the 19000 block of 59th Street Northeast.

BELGRADE -- The theft of a tractor battery was reported around 9 a.m. Thursday along the 28000 block of 107th Street Northeast.

Underage consumption

WILLMAR -- Eleven minors were cited for underage consumption around 11:30 p.m. Thursday along the 1300 block of 24th Street Northwest.

Assault

WILLMAR -- A woman reported she'd been assaulted by another woman around 9:40 p.m. Thursday along the 1100 block of 24th Street Northwest.

Arrest

WILLMAR -- A 47-year-old man was arrested on charges of violating an order for protection around 4:15 p.m. Thursday along the 400 block of Becker Avenue Southeast.

Property damage

WILLMAR -- Damage to a window was reported around 8:45 p.m. Thursday along the 800 block of Willmar Avenue Southwest.

WILLMAR -- Damage to a car window was reported around 2:50 p.m. Thursday along the 600 block of Seventh Street Southwest.

n Shawn Gerald Johnson, 18, of Spicer, pleaded guilty Thursday to a felony charge of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for having sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl.

As part of a plea agreement, he will receive a stay of adjudication on his sentence. Under the stay, no conviction will appear on his record unless he violates the conditions of probation.

He will be sentenced Dec. 10,

The charges were filed after May 11, when a Willmar Police officer received information that Johnson and a juvenile female had sex at a rural Willmar residence on prom night. The investigation included an admission from the girl that the teens had sexual relations that day.

n Eric Piceno, 37, of Willmar, made his first appearance Friday on a felony charge of aggravated forgery for using another man's name.

Unconditional bail was set at $20,000. His next appearance is Oct. 8.

According to the complaint, a vehicle that Piceno, who is also known as Steven Solis, was driving was pulled over by a law enforcement officer on Sept. 12 near State Highway 7. Piceno was cited for driving on a cancelled license and then arrested on a Todd County warrant. As he was being booked into the county jail, officials noticed a Social Security number associated with Piceno and the alias. The men had identical criminal history.

While he was being booked into the jail, staff members noticed a tattoo "Piceno" on the man's back and used fingerprints to identify him as Piceno.

The investigation revealed employment documents signed by in the Solis name, identification cards and driver's licenses in that name and a Social Security card associated with both names, plus a booking mug on a City of Willmar arrest were Piceno was identified as Solis and a driver's license application signed by Solis with Piceno's birthdate.
