Theft

LAKE LILLIAN -- The theft of catalytic converters and other items from cars was reported Saturday morning in the 150-boock of Lakeview Street South in Lake Lillian.

WILLMAR -- An mp3 player and a pair of shoes were reported stolen from a locker at the YMCA, 1000 Lakeland Dr. S.E., Willmar. The theft was reported at about 7 p.m. Saturday.

PENNOCK -- A black Apple iPhone was reported stolen from the Pennock Civic Center, 305 Dakota Ave. N.E. The theft was reported shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday.

Arrest

NEW LONDON -- A 38-year-old New London man was arrested for third-degree refusal to test and fourth-degree driving under the influence at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday at Highway 23 Northeast and 153th Avenue Northeast.

SPICER -- A 30-year-old Montevideo man was arrested for fifth-degree assault at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday after a report of someone hitting a bouncer at Zorbaz restaurant, 159 Lake Avenue S., Spicer.

Property damage

WILLMAR -- The front windshield was reported smashed on a vehicle parked near Roosevelt School on 19th Avenue Southwest in Willmar. The damage was reported shortly before 3 p.m. Sunday and was thought to have happened sometime after 10 p.m. Saturday.

ATV crash

LITCHFIELD -- A 22-year-old Litchfield man was injured in an ATV crash Saturday afternoon several miles southwest of Litchfield.

Derrick Kroells, 22, was injured when a tow strap accidentally wrapped around his leg and threatened to pull him under the ATV. He was taken by ambulance to Meeker Memorial Hospital and then to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

According to a release from the Meeker County Sheriff's Office, Kroells was towing a go-cart with a 2000 Yamaha ATV to try to get it started in the 22300 block of 575th Avenue in Litchfield Township near Star Lake.

When the tow strap wrapped around his leg, he lost control of the ATV, drove off the road and into a plowed field. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the release.

The driver of the go-cart, Lance Davis, 25, of Minneapolis, was not injured.
