Woman injured in 1-car accident in Meeker Co.
LITCHFIELD -- Icy roads and strong winds are blamed for a one-vehicle accident around 7:50 p.m. Thursday in Meeker County that injured a 43-year-old woman from Zimmerman.
Brenda Stachen was driving a 2004 Nissan Tundra and lost control of it while northbound on Minnesota Highway 15. Her vehicle crashed and rolled over in the east ditch, according to the Meeker County Sheriff's Office.
Stachen was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Saint Cloud Hospital. The Meeker County Sheriff, Minnesota State Patrol, Dassel Fire and Rescue, and Gold Cross Ambulance all responded to the scene.
Airsoft guns seized
WILLMAR -- Two Airsoft guns were taken into evidence after Willmar police officers responded to complaints of youths brandishing what appeared to be firearms.
Citizens reported seeing two weapons held by a group of youths at 7:37 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Sixth Street Southwest and Becker Avenue. Officers reported several youths, ages 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 17, were involved. They were spoken to and their parents contacted.
Fire calls due to heating system issues in New London
NEW LONDON -- The New London Fire Department responded to heating-system related fire calls on Thursday and Friday.
The firefighters at 11:39 p.m. on Thursday assisted a resident with a chimney fire on the 300 block of Ash Street in New London.
The firefighters responded to a call of smoke in a home due to a suspected problem with a furnace at 9:48 a.m. Friday on the 7100 block of 164th Avenue Northeast, New London.
Vandalism
WILLMAR -- A BB gun was used to damage a window on a residence on the 1800 block of Seventh Avenue Southeast. The incident was reported Thursday.
Noise complaint
NEW LONDON -- Officers reminded a father and son about the city of New London's noise regulations after responding to complaints about loud music and noises at 5:43 p.m. Thursday at a residence on the 100 block of First Avenue North in New London.
Assault
WILLMAR -- Police officers responded to a domestic assault after the victim sought assistance at a neighbor's at 7:41 p.m. Thursday on the 400 block of 15th Avenue Southwest in Willmar.
