Sheriff asks for vigilance, info on daytime burglaries
WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance and information on recent daytime home burglaries occurring in the county.
According to Sheriff Dan Hartog, the burglaries have been reported between the hours of 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. In most cases, cash is missing from the residences.
Hartog asks that citizens watch for suspicious vehicles or those vehicles not usually seen in the area. Getting the license plate number and a description of the vehicle is helpful to the investigation, he added.
Citizens are also asked to report if someone comes to the door asking by name for a person who doesn't live there or if people come to their door asking for directions or stating that their car ran out of gas or is broken down.
The burglaries have occurred sporadically over the last month or so and also are scattered around the county, with instances east of Willmar and north of Pennock.
Call the Sheriff's Office at 320-235-1260 to report any descriptions of person(s), vehicles, and/or license plate of these suspicious activities.
