One hurt in crash at Highway 23 and County Road 1

RAYMOND — A passenger of a vehicle that left State Highway 23 and tipped onto its side around 6:15 p.m. Monday was taken to Rice Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.


According to the State Patrol, Mohamed Fardowsa was a passenger in a 2001 Nissan Xterra driven by Mohamed Mahamed, 27, of Willmar. The vehicle was northbound along State Highway 23 near County Road 1 when the driver lost control and ran off the roadway, tipping the sport utility onto its passenger side.

The driver and another passenger, Ali Bashir, were not injured.

Two drivers sustain minor injuries in Highway 212 crash

RENVILLE — The drivers of two vehicles involved in a two-vehicle head-on crash around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 212 west of Renville were taken to Renville County Olivia Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

According to the State Patrol, Vickie Sober, 50, of Minneapolis, was westbound in a 2003 Lexus, got caught in a snowcloud from a semi and collided with an eastbound 2008 Ford Escape driven by Laurie Thielen, 55, of Sacred Heart. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

Minor injuries in Redwood County crash

GILFILLAN — The drivers of two vehicles involved in a crash around 8 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of State Highway 67 and County Road 13 were taken to Redwood Falls Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

According to the State Patrol, Tawnee Pendleton, 16, of Redwood Falls as driving a 1999 Pontiac southbound on Highway 67, lost control and collided head-on with a 2011 Chevy Impala driven by Mary Steinhaus, 49, of Morgan.


WILLMAR — A 67-year-old man was arrested on charges of driving while impaired around 8:10 p.m. Monday near the intersection of County Road 5 and 60th Avenue Northwest.


WILLMAR — The theft of medication was reported around 4:20 p.m. Monday along the 400 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast.


WILLMAR — Gang graffiti was reported around 12:25 p.m. Tuesday along the 300 block of Benson Avenue Southwest.
