Man ejected from vehicle in roll-over
GRANITE FALLS — A 28-year-old man was transported by North Memorial Air Care for injuries suffered after he was ejected from a vehicle in a roll-over accident at 2:30 a.m. on Sunday in Yellow Medicine County.
Dean Nething was not wearing a seat belt when the 2003 GMC SUV that he was a passenger in rolled multiple times on 570th Street south of 120th Avenue, southeast of Wood Lake, according to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff’s Department.
Briana Nething, 28, was driving the vehicle and transported by ground ambulance. She was not wearing a seat belt.
Alcohol and excessive speed are believed to have been factors in the accident, according to the sheriff’s department. It remains under investigation. The sheriff’s office and North Memorial Air Care were joined by the Cottonwood and Granite Falls Ambulance and Wood Lake Fire and First Responder units in responding to the scene.
Youth injured in snowmobile mishap
ST. CLOUD — A 15-year-old youth suffered injuries to his leg in a snowmobile mishap shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday in the area of North Lake in Albany Township of Stearns County, the Stearns County Sheriff’s office reported.
Adam Vowles injured his leg when he was unable to stop his snowmobile in time as he caught up with a friend who was waiting for him on his snowmobile.
Vowles slid into the rear of the other snowmobile, catching his leg between them. The injured youth was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital.
Neither snowmobile was damaged.
WILLMAR — No injuries were reported when a 2002 Dodge Caravan left the roadway and rolled over on Minnesota Trunk Highway 71 Northeast near the intersection with 41st Avenue Northeast in Kandiyohi County at 10:08 p.m. on Friday.
The rollover came about 15 minutes after a 1999 Ford Windstar went off the road and into the ditch at the same location.
REDWOOD FALLS — A 25-year-old Mankato man was injured when he lost control of his 2006 Ford van due to icy conditions while eastbound on Minnesota Highway 19 near milepost 46 in Redwood County at 8:38 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Mohamedqadarh Alinoor was transported to the Marshall Hospital.
MARSHALL — A 22-year-old woman suffered minor injuries when she lost control of her 2005 Dodge Stratus on an icy stretch of Minnesota Trunk Highway 23 north of Marshall and it went into the ditch and rolled at 1:10 p.m. on Saturday.
Samantha Waldner, 22, of Coldwater, Mich., was southbound when the accident occurred. She was transported by the Cottonwood Ambulance to the Marshall Hospital.
WILLMAR — No injuries were reported in a collision involving a 2006 Nissan Altima and 2009 Toyota Camry at 3:13 p.m. on Saturday at the intersection of First Street South and 19th Avenue Southeast in Willmar.
Hit and run
WILLMAR — The owner of a silver colored, 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix reported that its driver’s side mirror had been damaged in a hit and run accident while parked sometime after 3 a.m. on Sunday on the 500 block of Fourth Street Southeast in Willmar. Broken pieces of the taillight from the suspect vehicle were recovered at the scene.
Driving under the influence
SPICER — A 24-year old Spicer man was charged with driving under the influence after the vehicle he was driving on state Highway 71 Northeast near 37th Avenue Northeast, Willmar, went into the ditch at 2:13 a.m. on Friday.
Man sleeping in hallway
WILLMAR — A man found sleeping in a hallway between the second and third floors of an apartment building on the 400 block of Lakeland Drive Southeast at 5:37 a.m. on Sunday told police he was homeless. The 29-year-old man was given a courtesy ride to where he could telephone a friend and was given information on how to obtain help from the Salvation Army.
