WILLMAR — Damage to a vehicle in the 1500 block of 30th Street Southwest in Willmar was reported at 6 a.m. Friday. The Dodge Neon reportedly had a passenger window broken out. The stereo was ripped out but not taken, and there was blood throughout the interior, according to the initial complaint report.
n Mathew Brian Soft, 20, of Willmar, made his first appearance Friday on a fifth-degree drug sale charge for allegedly selling marijuana to an informant near the Willmar Public Library.
Unconditional bail was set at $10,000. His next appearance is May 20.
Soft also faces misdemeanor charges of possessing over 1.4 grams of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of legend drugs.
According to the complaint, the CEE-VI Drug Task Force informant purchased 1.9 grams of marijuana from Soft after they met in the parking lot of the Willmar library. The informant identified Soft by photo and the drugs tested positive as marijuana.
On May 8, police officers located Soft in a vehicle and found marijuana, a digital scale, a glass pipe and a prescription bottle of acetaminophen with codeine with another person’s name on the bottle.
n Joseph Balboa, 27, of Willmar, made his first appearance Friday on a third-degree drug sale charge for allegedly selling methamphetamine to an informant.
Unconditional bail was set at $50,000. His next appearance is May 20.
According to the complaint, the CEE-VI Drug Task Force informant purchased 1.4 grams of meth from Balboa on March 26 in the parking lot of a downtown Willmar store.
