District Court

Kandiyohi County

- Trey Donovan Wittenberg, 23, of Willmar, pleaded guilty Thursday to a second-degree drug sale charge and a fifth-degree drug possession charge selling 8.6 grams of meth to a CEE-VI Drug Task Force informant in September and for drugs found in a Willmar motel room searched by task force agents in March.

As part of a plea agreement, another second-degree drug charge plus two petty misdemeanors for drug paraphernalia will be dismissed. He will be sentenced Aug. 8.

The drug sale charge was filed after the informant purchased 8.6 grams of meth from Wittenberg, whom the informant identified by photo, on Sept. 26. They met at a downtown Willmar location and the informant drove Wittenberg to the area of 13th Street and Kandiyohi Avenue Southwest before Wittenberg got out of the vehicle.

The informant turned over the drugs to agents after the sale was complete.

The fifth-degree charge was filed after March 11, when task force agents served a search warrant on a Willmar motel room rented by Wittenberg, finding drug paraphernalia, a scale, large amounts of cash hidden in a coffee maker and the air conditioning unit, plus a water bong, digital scale and bags with meth residue. Wittenberg was interviewed and claimed the items. He said he used the scale to weight things. When investigators asked what he used the scale to weigh meth, he said he wanted to talk with his attorney and the interview ended.
