WILLMAR — The theft of a battery and a trolling motor from a boat was reported around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday along the 1700 block of Highway 12 East.
WILLMAR — The theft of an iPad was reported around 10:50 a.m. Wednesday at Willmar Senior High School, 2701 30th St. N.E.
WILLMAR — An assault was reported around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday along the 800 block of Fifth Street Southwest.
WILLMAR — Slashed tires on a vehicle were reported around 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in the area of Litchfield Avenue and Fourth Street Southwest.
n Alison Dawn Lorenson, 26, Willmar, made her first appearance Wednesday on felony charge of state lottery fraud and theft for allegedly taking lottery tickets from her employer.
Unconditional bail was set at $10,000. Her next appearance is Oct. 7.
According to the complaint, a Willmar Police officer was called to Trav’s Dino Mart on July 22 regarding the theft of lottery tickets. Store officials had been reviewing surveillance video for an unrelated reason and saw Lorenson taking lottery tickets and scratching them off at the store. The theft was estimated at $1,800 worth of tickets in two days.
Lorenson was terminated from her job and allegedly admitted to the theft.
Further review of the video footage by a state lottery security investigator showed that between $5,500 and $6,000 worth of tickets were taken by Lorenson between July 1 and 22.
Lorenson was interviewed and allegedly admitted to taking $3,000 to $4,000 worth of tickets and said she received about $1,000 in winnings from the tickets.
