Teens robbed Sunday evening, police investigating

WILLMAR — Two teenaged boys, ages 17 and 16, reported they were robbed at gunpoint around 10:30 p.m. Sunday evening on the north side of Willmar.

According to police reports, the boys were walking along Eighth Street near Bria’s Park when a gold-colored car, possibly a Chevy Malibu, approached them. A male passenger, described as a African American about 5-foot 9-inches tall wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, jeans and multi-colored tennis shoes, exited the vehicle and displayed a handgun.

The two teens were taken to the rear of the vehicle, where they were searched and a phone and a lighter taken from them. The boys both reported to officers that their assailant pressed the gun against them.

The vehicle was also occupied by two others, described as Somali males.

Property damage

SPICER — Damage to a vehicle was reported around 9 p.m. Sunday along the 13000 block of Indian Beach Road.
