Van hits school bus, students not injured

WILLMAR — A minivan struck a Willmar Bus Service bus around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of First Street and Olena Avenue Southeast, but no one was injured in the crash.

According to the crash report by Willmar Police, Vernon Manley Jr., 69, of Pennock, was westbound on Olena Avenue with 37 students on an International school bus. The bus stopped for the stop sign at First Street and was struck from behind by a 2012 Toyota minivan driven by Kalee Hoffman, 38, of Willmar.

Theft

WILLMAR — The theft of an electric meter was reported around 9:30 a.m. Thursday along the 400 block of 30th Street Northwest.

Arrests

WILLMAR — A 21-year-old woman was arrested on charges of drug and drug paraphernalia possession, failure to yield, stopping in the traffic lane and for not having a valid driver’s license and a 25-year-old man was arrested on drug possession charges during a traffic stop around 7:40 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Seventh Avenue and 30th Street Northwest.
