St. Paul man killed in Olivia crash
According to a report from the Minnesota State Patrol, vehicles driven by Bu H. Shwe, 55, of St. Paul and Michael B. Traxler, 31, of Long Prairie collided on Highway 212. Shwe was westbound and Traxler was eastbound at the time of the crash.
Shwe was airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, where he died. Traxler and Shwe’s passenger, Hope K. Nue, 18, of Granite Falls, were not injured.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Department, Olivia Police Department, Olivia Ambulance and North Air Care also responded to the scene.
Woman hurt in crash
BUFFALO LAKE — A 34-year-old New Auburn woman was taken to Hutchinson Hospital for injuries suffered in a two-vehicle crash around 2:25 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 212 and County Road 20.
According to the State Patrol, Jolyn M. Gibbons was driving a 2008 Honda Odyssey westbound on Highway 212 and collided with a westbound 2003 Dodge Caravan driven by Judith A. Knaak, 63, of Stewart.
Knaak and her passenger, Otto Knaak, 75, were not injured.
The Buffalo Lake Police Department and the Renville County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
Underage consumptionWILLMAR — Six people were cited for underage consumption of alcohol after police officers were called around 4 a.m. Wednesday to the 1200 block of 24th Street Northwest regarding a loud party.
PENNOCK — The theft of a moneybox and candy from a food trailer was reported in the 8700 block of 195th Avenue Northwest in Pennock. The theft was reported at 10:22 a.m. Thursday.
