Authorities restrict Highway 71 due to crash
The Minnesota Department of Transportation office in Willmar announced the lane restrictions at 2 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 71, south of Kandiyohi County Road 40. The highway lane was restricted due to the crash. The crash site was later cleared and all lanes were opened to traffic.
MnDOT crews and the Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash. A patrol dispatcher in St. Cloud would say only that the injuries in the crash were not serious.
One hurt in car, snowplow crash
CLARA CITY — One person was injured in a sideswipe crash of a car and a snowplow truck on Tuesday morning on Highway 23 at Clara City, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The crash was reported at 9:53 a.m. Tuesday. The patrol said Lisa M. Russell, 37, of Maynard was driving a 2002 Buick Rendezvous south on Highway 23 and Richard A. Larson, 65, of Pennock was driving a 2009 Sterling snowplow truck north on Highway 23 when they collided.
Russell was taken by Clara City Ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar with a non-life-threatening injury, the patrol said. Larson was not reported to be injured.
The Clara City Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
