WILLMAR — Three reports of theft of wallets and cash were reported from 12:30 p.m. Wednesday to 10:40 a.m. Thursday at Target, 2505 First St. S.
District Court, Kandiyohi County
- Ranea Juanita Nolden, 27, of Hawick, pleaded guilty and was sentenced Wednesday on a misdemeanor charge of theft for stealing a washing machine.
As part of a plea agreement, a felony third-degree burglary charge was dismissed. She was sentenced to 45 days in jail, with 43 days stayed and credit for two days already served, a $100 fine and one year of probation.
The charges were filed after July 13, when a Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a rural Hawick address around 7:30 p.m. regarding a burglary. Nolden was one of several people at the location, which included several trailer homes. Several people told the deputy that Nolden had entered a trailer home, which was not her own residence, and took a washer with assistance from another individual.
The man who was with Nolden said that he was helping her move and that she offered him the washer, said the trailer was her residence and that she didn’t need the washer anymore.
Nolden told the deputy that she had permission to take the washer and was going to give it to a friend, but wouldn’t name that friend.
