Fire destroys vehicle
The Meeker County Sheriff’s Department reported that Paynesville fire fighters and sheriff’s officers responded to the fire. The pickup, owned by Ricky Flanders, 58, of Paynesville, was a total loss.
A mail delivery person driving by the owner’s residence noticed the fire and summoned help. The cause of the fire has not been determined.
WILLMAR — Police arrested a 51-year-old man for trespass at the Cash Wise store’s delicatessen on the 1300 block of Fifth Street Southeast in Willmar around 7 p.m. on Thursday. The man had returned to the site after being previously told he was not allowed there.
WILLMAR — Police officers arrested a woman in her 20’s for shoplifting after she left the Wal-Mart Superstore with over $115 worth of cosmetics, a book and some produce in her purse around 5:18 p.m. on Thursday.
WILLMAR — A trailer valued at over $5,000 was stolen from a business on the 2700 block of East Highway 12 in Willmar, according to a report made Thursday. The trailer is described as having an 18-inch dovetail axle, new wood decking, and rusted angle iron fenders.
Hit and run
WILLMAR — Police officers are investigating a hit-and-run accident in which a 200 Dodge Intrepid was struck on the 900 block of South First Street around 4 p.m. on Thursday. A bystander recorded a plate number on the suspect vehicle.
NEW LONDON — Items were stolen from a shop located on the 22000 block of County Road 9 Northeast, New London, according to a report made Thursday.
KANDIYOHI — A property owner on the 100 block of Sixth Street South, Kandiyohi, reported that threats had been spray painted on a garage at the address on Thursday.
