This is the records summary for Aug. 13. Milan man in critical condition after accident MONTEVIDEO — A 31-year-old Milan man remains in critical condition after he was pinned inside a vehicle Saturday in Tunsberg Township.


The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that it received a report at 2:15 p.m. Saturday that 26-year-old Bantasar Kantito of Milan traveled off the road at the junction of state Highway 7 and U.S. Highway 59 and down a steep ravine.

Kantito got out of the vehicle and waved down help on the roadway for the trapped passenger, Soses Dokoche.  

Two passersby kept an airway for Dokoche using a swimming snorkel until medical professionals arrived.

Montevideo and Milan Fire Departments removed Dokoche from the vehicle, who was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital by North Memorial Air.

Kantito was transported by Montevideo Ambulance to Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital, where he was treated and released.

Sauk Centre man rolls car on Highway 23/71 north of Willmar

WILLMAR — An 18-year-old Sauk Centre man rolled his car on Highway 23/71 north of Willmar early Monday morning, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Adam Kleinfehn fell asleep at the wheel and drove his car into the median, causing it to roll over into the middle of southbound lanes around 6:27 a.m. Monday, the Patrol said.

Kleinfehn was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar and treated for minor injuries.

Arrests WILLMAR — A 22-year-old man was arrested for violating an order for protection-domestic abuse no contact order at 12:17 p.m. Monday in the 400 block of Sixth Street Southwest, according to a Willmar police report.

NEW LONDON — A 61-year-old man was arrested on domestic assault charges on the 780 block of Kandiyohi County Road 40 Northeast at 7:03 p.m. Monday, a Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office report said.

Vandalism WILLMAR — Willmar police were called at 1:41 a.m. Tuesday to a residence on the 1400 block of 13th Avenue Northeast in Willmar for severe damage to a front door. The resident suspected that someone damaged his door between 9:30 p.m. Monday and 1:30 a.m. Tuesday.

WILLMAR — A resident reported at 8:33 a.m. Tuesday that a fire had been started outside of her home on the 1400 block of 13th Avenue Northeast in Willmar.
