Accidents

OLIVIA -- A 19-year-old driver from Olivia was treated and released for injuries he suffered in a collision on U.S. Highway 212 about one mile east of Olivia at 5:22 p.m. on Sunday.

Sean Ziesmer was driving a 1985 Ford Escort southbound on 360th Avenue when he apparently failed to obey a stop sign and crossed U.S. Highway 212, according to an accident report by the Minnesota State Patrol.

The Escort he was driving was struck by an east bound Buick Lacrosse driven by Gayle Jensen, 53, of Rosemount. She was not injured.

The Escort was totaled and the Buick sustained moderate damage, according to the report.

CANBY -- A 27-year-old woman suffered minor injuries when the 1996 Chevrolet Tahoe she was driving left the road southeast of Canby in western Yellow Medicine County and struck a stop sign at 7:21 p.m. on Saturday.

Rebecca Larson was eastbound on Highway 68 when she missed a turn, braked and tried to make a turn, the Minnesota State Patrol reported. She went into the ditch and struck a stop sign.

She reported an injury to her hip. The vehicle sustained moderate damage.

GRANITE FALLS -- Two vehicles were damaged and the passenger in one suffered minor injuries in a collision near the intersection of Yellow Medicine County Road 18 and Minnesota Trunk Highway 23 near Hanley Falls at 5:46 p.m. on Friday.

Andrew Peterson, 30, of Granite Falls, was driving a 2000 Ford Taurus and had stopped at the stop sign on County Road 18 but apparently did not see a 2002 Dodge Stratus as he began to proceed onto Highway 23, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Robert Schillen, 55, driver of the Status, swerved to avoid Taurus and the two collided on County Road 18. His passenger, Cheryl Schmillen, 40, of Granite Falls, suffered minor injuries.

The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles.

WILLMAR -- A 1997 Oldsmobile '88 was towed after it left the road on the bridge at 3700 block of Northeast 113rd Avenue, Spicer, at 11:06 p.m. on Saturday. There were no reports of injuries to the 23-year-old male driver.

Fight

WILLMAR -- An officer summoned an ambulance to treat an injured person after responding to a report of a large fight on the 1200 block of Southeast Becker Avenue at 2:44 a.m. on Sunday. The extent of injuries to the victim was not known.

Burglaries

WILLMAR -- A resident on the 300 block of Hillcrest Drive in Willmar reported the theft of a tool box, yellow clips and tools from a garage.

SUNBURG -- Auto parts valued at more than $2,000 were reported stolen on Friday from an auto salvage yard on the 12000 block of Northwest County Road 40, Sunburg. Two Allison truck transmissions, a flywheel and other items were stolen.

Injured in fall

WILLMAR -- A 53 year-old woman was treated after suffering an approximate eight-foot fall at a building on the 23000 block South First Street in Willmar at 11:23 p.m. on Saturday. The extent of the injuries was not known.

Stolen mailbox

SPICER -- A resident on the 9500 block of Northeast 90th Street, Spicer, reported on Saturday that his roadside mailbox had been stolen. The mailbox has his surname printed in large letters on it.
