WILLMAR -- A 19-year-old Willmar man was arrested on charges of giving a false name to a peace officer and underage consumption around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday along the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southwest. The arrest came after an apartment caretaker found the man lying in the hallway of a building.



WILLMAR -- The theft of a wallet was reported around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday at Super Wal-Mart, 700 19th Ave S.E. The caller reported the wallet contained cash, a driver's license, credit and gift cards.

PENNOCK -- The theft of a laptop was reported around 11 a.m. Tuesday along Dakota Avenue.

WILLMAR -- The theft of tools from a construction site was reported around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday along the 900 block of 19th Avenue Southeast.

WILLMAR -- The theft of an air conditioning unit was reported around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday along the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southwest. The caller reported that the unit may have been taken by three men they'd seen taking items from the apartment on Tuesday afternoon.

Property damage

WILLMAR -- Damage to a car was reported around 4 p.m. Tuesday along the 1800 block of Becker Avenue Southeast. The caller reported a vehicle had been "keyed."

WILLMAR -- Damage to a window was reported around 2:45 a.m. Tuesday along the 400 block of Eighth Street Southwest.

Fire call

WILLMAR -- The Willmar Fire Department was called around 2 p.m. Tuesday to the 1100 block of 24th Street Northwest on a report that an apartment was filled with smoke. The cause of the smoke was found to be burnt food.

District Court

Kandiyohi County

- Jesse Harley Hedy, 24, of Willmar, made his first appearance Wednesday on a fifth-degree drug sale charge for allegedly selling marijuana to a CEE-VI Drug Task Force informant.

Unconditional bail was set at $20,000. Conditional release was allowed provided he not enter establishments that sell alcohol and not be at locations where illegal drugs are used. His next appearance is Sept. 8.

According to the complaint, a drug task force informant allegedly purchased 8 grams of marijuana for $30 from Hedy on Oct. 7, 2008 in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Willmar.
