One dead, oneseriously hurt in Forest Prairie Township crash
WATKINS -- A 23-year-old man from rural Watkins was killed Friday in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 642nd Avenue and 365th Street in Forest Prairie Township.
According to a news release from Meeker County Sheriff Jeff Norlin, Justin Allen Shoutz was driving a 1996 Saturn northbound on 642nd Avenue and was struck around 4:15 p.m. by a 1995 Jeep driven by Andrew John Glimsdal, 23, of Kimball. Glimsdal was eastbound on 365th Street, went through a yield sign and struck the car, the release said.
Shoutz was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in his vehicle, Brandon Scott Shoutz, 18, was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital. He is in serious condition.
Glimsdal was treated and released at Meeker County Hospital.
The crash is under investigation by the sheriff's office. The Minnesota State Patrol, along with the Watkins ambulance, fire and rescue crews, assisted at the scene.
Two to hospitalafter crash
WILLMAR -- Two men were taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning at Julii Street and Minnesota Avenue Southeast.
According to the crash report, a 1995 Dodge driven by Chris Reznecheck, 30, of Willmar, and a 2000 Chevy Silverado driven by Javier Pulido, 27, of Murdock, collided in the middle of the uncontrolled intersection. Reznecheck and a passenger, Patrick Annett, 57, were taken to the hospital. Pulido was cited for driving without a driver's license.
WILLMAR -- A 56-year-old Willmar man was arrested on charges of domestic assault, terroristic threats and fifth-degree assault around noon Sunday along the 1500 block of 15th Street Southeast.
SPICER -- A 17-year-old Spicer boy was arrested on charges of driving while impaired around 1:15 a.m. Saturday along Highway 23 in Spicer.
WILLMAR -- A 25-year-old Willmar man was arrested on charges of driving while impaired around 11:30 p.m. Saturday after an accident, a vehicle had driven into a tree, was reported at the intersection of First Street and Ella Avenue.
WILLMAR -- A 23-year-old Willmar man was arrested on charges of driving while impaired around 1:35 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Trott Avenue and Julii Street Southeast.
WILLMAR -- A domestic assault was reported around 7:45 p.m. Saturday along the 3000 block of Seventh Avenue Northwest. The suspect fled on foot before officers arrived.
WILLMAR -- The theft of $9 worth of Twizzlers candy was reported around 12:20 a.m. Sunday at Cash Wise Foods, 1300 Fifth St. S.E.
WILLMAR -- A 17-year-old Paynesville boy was cited for shoplifting around 1:30 p.m. Friday at Super Wal-Mart, 700 19th Ave. S.E.
WILLMAR -- The theft of two cases of beer was reported around 6 p.m. Saturday at Westwide Liquor, 1600 E. Highway 12. The caller reported a man walked in, picked up two 18-packs of Michelob and exited through a loading dock door.
WILLMAR -- The theft of a Blackberry phone was reported around 4:40 p.m. Sunday at Wireless World, 527 First St. S.
SPICER -- The theft of $20 from a wallet was reported around 11:15 p.m. Friday at Melvins, 159 S. Lake Ave.
WILLMAR -- The theft of a purse was reported around 4:50 p.m. Friday at the Minnesota Job Service office in the Health and Human Services building, 2200 23rd St. N.E.
RAYMOND -- The Raymond Fire Department was paged around 2:30 p.m. Friday to a field near 75th Avenue and County Road 5 for a truck fire. The department was on scene until about 4:15 p.m.
