Minor injuries in two rollover crashes east of Dawson
DAWSON -- A Big Lake man and a family from Missouri suffered minor or no injuries when their vehicle rolled in two separate incidents Tuesday afternoon east of Dawson.
According to the State Patrol, Dean D. Tilly, 62, of Big Lake was westbound on U.S. Highway 212, hit an icy patch and lost control of his 2000 Chevy Tahoe, which went into the ditch and rolled onto its side. He was taken to the hospital in Dawson and treated and released. That crash happened around 3:37 p.m.
Around 4 p.m., the Patrol was called to another rollover about a mile away. A passenger car, no make or model reported, was driven by Joel C. Seppala, 30 of Weston, Mo. Similarly, the car hit an icy patch, the driver lost control and the vehicle entered the ditch and rolled onto its roof. Three passengers, Melissa Seppala, 29, Payton Seppala, 5, and Katelyn Seppala, less than 1 year of age, were taken to the Dawson hospital. No apparent injuries were reported.
Franklin man to hospital after crash west of Morton
MORTON -- A 55-year-old Franklin man was treated and released from Redwood Falls Hospital after a two-vehicle accident around 2:35 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of U.S. Highway 71 and County Road 2 west of Morton.
According to the State Patrol, Chong H. Minkel was driving a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer, lost control of the vehicle and struck a 2006 Cadillac Escalade driven by Alissa A. Mattison, 21, of Delhi. Neither Mattison nor the passenger in the vehicle, Debra E. Mattison, 47, of Delhi, were injured.
One driver to hospital after rear-end crash
WILLMAR -- A 43-year-old Willmar woman was taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after a two-vehicle rear-end-type crash around 5:20 p.m. on Seventh Street Northwest near the intersection with Park Avenue.
According to the crash report, Kathryn Lynn Broze was driving a 2006 that was struck by a 1998 Mercury driven by Daniel Ammerman, 20, of Willmar.
One to hospital after icy intersection crash
WILLMAR -- One person was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash around 11:50 a.m. Tuesday at Monongalia Avenue and Sixth Street Southwest.
According to the crash report, Marlene Castillo, 59, of Willmar, was westbound on Monongalia and Joshua Florez, 18, of Willmar, was southbound on Sixth Street when the vehicles collided in the intersection. The drivers could not stop on the icy street. Castillo was taken to the hospital after the crash.
Woman to hospital after rollover
DOVRE TOWNSHIP -- A 26-year-old Willmar woman was taken by ambulance to Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after a one-vehicle rollover accident around 2 p.m. Tuesday in Dovre Township.
According to the crash report from the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, Christine Lindsley was southbound on County Road 5, became distracted, drifted to the right, overcorrected and then rolled a 1994 Jeep.
ATWATER -- Fraudulent use of a credit card was reported around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday along 135th Street Northeast. The caller reported an unauthorized charge of $1,000.
WILLMAR -- Fraudulent use of a credit card was reported around 10 a.m. Wednesday along the 9000 block of U.S. Highway 12 East. The caller reported an unauthorized charge of $379.
WILLMAR -- The theft of a GPS unit from a vehicle was reported around 2 p.m. Tuesday along the 700 block of Fourth Street Southeast.
WILLMAR -- A citizen reported a theft case around 6:40 p.m. Tuesday at the Law Enforcement Center. The person said they'd bought a vehicle on Craigslist.com, paid for it in full and that the seller would not release the vehicle or its title to them.
KANDIYOHI -- The burglary of a garage and theft of a 2007 Yamaha dirt bike, tools and rims and tires was reported around 6 p.m. Tuesday along Olney Avenue.
