One killed in collision near Rockville

ROCKVILLE -- One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision Friday morning on state Highway 23 just east of Rockville.

A 2001 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Peggy L. Adamson, 61, of Cold Spring was northbound on Highway 23 shortly before 8 a.m. Friday when a 1998 Honda Accord traveling west on Stearns County Road 47 pulled into the intersection.

Adamson struck the other vehicle broadside.

The driver of the Honda was declared dead at the scene. That person's identity will not be released until today, according to the accident report from the Minnesota State Patrol. Adamson and two passengers in the Accord were transported to St. Cloud Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.

Garage fire

DASSEL -- The Meeker County Sheriff's Office said fire caused substantial damage to a garage at a rural Dassel residence early Friday.

The Sheriff's Office was called at 12:03 a.m. Friday and responded, as well as the Dassel Fire Department, to the fire call at the residence on 309th Street.

The Sheriff's Office said the fire started in a trash container. There were no vehicles in the garage, but there was a substantial amount of damage done to the building.

Property damage

LAKE LILLIAN -- Several windows were broken in a car stuck at the end of a driveway along County Road 8 Southeast in Lake Lillian. The damage was reported Thursday morning. The windshield, driver's door window and right middle window were broken sometime after 5 p.m. Wednesday.

WILLMAR -- Damage was reported to a car parked in an apartment building parking lot in the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southwest. The hood was keyed, and the car had flat tires and sugar in the gas tank. The damage was reported Thursday morning.

WILLMAR -- The window next to the front door at the 19th Avenue Bar and Grill, 500 19th Ave. S.E., was reported damaged early Friday morning. A suspect listed in the police report was taken to detoxification later in the morning.

Crash

NEW LONDON -- Two teen-agers were treated at Rice Memorial Hospital and released Thursday evening after a rollover crash shortly before 9 p.m. Thursday in the 20000 block of County Road 9 Northeast outside New London.

Driver Courtney Elizabeth Laurent, 16, of Chaska and passenger Jennifer Michelle Zerby, 16, of Bertrum were treated at Rice, according to a nursing supervisor. A second passenger, Codie Marie Bennetts, 14, no address given, was not treated at Rice.

Arrests

SPICER -- A 29-year-old Spicer man was arrested at about 12:40 a.m. Friday for driving while impaired. He was arrested in the 13000 block of Highway 23 Northeast in Spicer.

WILLMAR -- A 27-year-old Willmar woman was arrested at 1:30 a.m. Friday for fourth degree driving while impaired at the intersection of Litchfield Avenue and Benson Avenue in Willmar.
