SPICER -- A 50-year-old Willmar man was injured when his snowmobile struck a piece of ice on Green Lake and he was thrown from the machine.
The victim got on his snowmobile around 4:25 p.m. Saturday at Melvin's in Spicer and was driving on Green Lake when he struck one of the ice pieces that outline the track. Spicer First Responders arrived with a four-wheel vehicle and he was transported to Rice Memorial Hospital for a possible broken pelvis.
BLOMKEST -- Kandiyohi County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report that two people were walking along U.S. Highway 71 near the intersection with state Highway 7 at 10:44 p.m. Friday, but learned the couple had already received assistance.
The 21-year-old driver reported that his 1997 Chervolet went into the ditch but he and his pregnant wife began walking to Mel's Corner for assistance. He reported that his wife was given a ride to the hospital.
GRANITE FALLS -- A driver was transported to the Granite Falls Hospital after his 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck left U.S. Highway 212 about one mile east of Granite Falls and rolled over at 8:56 a.m. Saturday.
Maurico Castell-Pliego, 40, of Stacy, was treated and released. The condition and address of his passenger, Corey Castell, 22, were not documented.
The pickup was severely damaged, according to the accident report by the Minnesota State Patrol.
WILLMAR -- The driver of a 1998 Dodge escaped injury when his vehicle rolled over after leaving U.S. Highway 71 at the U.S. Highway 12 bypasss at 9:18 p.m. on Friday.
WILLMAR - A driver was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated after his vehicle struck a sign and went into a snowbank along Minnesota Highway 23 at the Medayto Drive intersection at 1 a.m. Saturday.
The 27-year-driver and his passenger were not injured and the 2001 Chrysler was pulled out of the snowbank.
WILLMAR -- Willmar Police are investigating an assault that happened on the 3000 block of Northwest Third Avenue sometime before 5 a.m. on Saturday.
A 19-year-old male victim required care at Rice Memorial Hospital for undisclosed injuries.
