- Jesse Allen Dilley, formerly known as Jesse Allen Shoutz, 29, of Atwater, pleaded guilty Friday to a gross misdemeanor charge of interfering with a 911 call.
Under a plea agreement, a felony charge of making terroristic threats will be dismissed. He will be sentenced May 4.
The charges were filed after a Jan. 22 incident, when an Atwater Police officer and a Kandiyohi County Sheriff's deputy were called to an Atwater address for a 911 call that had been disconnected. Dilley was observed walking away from the home and said he and a woman had had an argument. The woman told officers he'd unplugged the landline phone while she was calling for help and prevented her from getting her cellphone to call again. She said he threatened her before officers could arrive.
- Amberly Lyn Samuelson, 23, of Spicer, made her first appearance Friday on felony fifth-degree drug possession and theft charges for allegedly stealing a prescription narcotic from a man.
She was released on her personal recognizance. Her next court date is April 12. Samuelson also faces a petty misdemeanor charge for possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the complaint, Willmar police were called around 4 a.m. Thursday to an address along Fourth Street Southwest on a loud party complaint. The party was dispersed, but then the officers noticed several people running away. One of the people, identified as Samuelson, was located. She showed signs of alcohol consumption, but said she had no identification to prove she was old enough to drink. Before allowing her to sit in the squad car to wait and get identification, the officer searched her, finding a marijuana pipe and a pill bottle with eight Vicodin pills in it. The name on the prescription bottle was the resident of the apartment where the party was. He told officers he didn't give Samuelson permission to take the medication.
