38 minors cited after sheriff's office called to party in Pennock

PENNOCK -- A total of 38 minors were cited for illegal consumption of alcohol Monday evening after law enforcement officers were notified of a loud party in Pennock.

According to a news release from Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Sgt. Steven Marquardt, the department received a call around 11:15 p.m. Monday regarding a noisy gathering outside of a residence along the 400 block of Second Street.

Deputies arrived to find a large underage party at the home. They were assisted by the Willmar Police Department. Two of those cited were under age 18 and the remainder were 18-, 19- and 20-year-old individuals.

Arrests

WILLMAR -- A 46-year-old Willmar man was arrested on charges of trespassing and disorderly conduct around 1 p.m. Monday along the 700 block of Second Street Southeast.

WILLMAR -- A 38-year-old Willmar man was arrested on domestic assault charges around 10:15 p.m. Monday along the 1200 block of Kandiyohi Avenue Southwest.

WILLMAR -- A 24-year-old Willmar man was arrested on charges of fifth-degree assault around 10:15 p.m. Monday along the 1400 block of Fifth Street Southwest.

Theft

NEW LONDON -- A theft from a garage was reported around 5:40 p.m. Monday along First Avenue Southeast.

WILLMAR -- The theft of a tent, cooler, chairs and miscellaneous items from Sonshine was reported around 9:45 a.m. Tuesday by a Becker man. The theft allegedly happened between 7 and 10 p.m. Saturday.

Kandiyohi County

- Jennifer Courtney Weilage, 29, of Willmar pleaded guilty Monday to a misdemeanor charge of domestic assault.

As part of a plea agreement, a felony charge of domestic assault by strangulation will be dismissed. She will be sentenced Aug. 26.

The charges were filed after a man reported to Willmar Police on Feb. 28 that he had been assaulted at the apartment he shared with Weilage on Seventh Street Northwest.

The man said that Weilage slapped him repeatedly and choked him with her arms around his neck until he lost consciousness. When he came to, he found himself lying on the floor. Weilage continued to hit and push him, shoving him into the kitchen stove and banging his head on a cabinet door. The victim sustained a black eye and had red marks around his throat and blood around his collar, on his arms and on his chest.
