- Bail was set at $20,000 for a Nebraska man charged with fleeing from authorities in a stolen vehicle. The incident happened Tuesday on state Highway 23 in the northern part of Kandiyohi County.

Juan Adolph Arredondo, 41, of Omaha, Neb., is charged with two felonies, including receiving stolen property and fleeing a peace officer. He is also faces a gross misdemeanor charge of driving while impaired - refuse to submit to chemical test.

According to court records, Arredondo was spotted around 5 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 23 near Paynesville by an off-duty Willmar police officer who recognized the stolen vehicle, a 2007 Chrysler Sedan from Nebraska.

While following the vehicle, the officer notified the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, which took over the pursuit once the vehicle crossed into Kandiyohi County.

Deputies activated their emergency lights, but the vehicle did not immediately stop.

When the vehicle eventually pulled over onto the side of the road, Arredondo refused to answer questions and refused to take a breathalyzer test after officers detected the smell of alcohol.

Appearing Thursday before District Judge David Mennis, Arredondo was ordered not to leave the state without written court approval. His next appearance is Nov. 29.

- During a first court appearance Tuesday, bail was set at $10,000 for Kenneth James Klang, 46, of Willmar.

Chillice Ann Angrimson, 24, of Willmar, is also charged in that case for allegedly stealing the television from a friend's house.

According to the complaint, the residents of the rural Willmar home told a Kandiyohi County sheriff's deputy that Angrimson had come to stay over at their home and that when they awoke in the morning, she and their television, valued at $2,200, were both missing.

The television was later located at a Pennock house, where the resident claimed he had agreed to take the television as a guarantee on a loan from Klang.
